Continuous Professional Development Course

Directed at Irish Teachers (T2) and Gaelcholáiste Teachers (T1)

Course Overview

Coláiste Chamuis CPD courses offer support, motivation, and practical assistance to today’s teachers, enhancing their teaching skills and building confidence in their ability to teach through Irish. We nurture and develop this confidence in a social and interpersonal manner.

Teachers are given a Gaeltacht immersion experience, spending two nights immersed in the language. Teachers come to the wellspring of the Gaeltacht, staying on Coláiste Chamuis’ campus in Ros a’ Mhíl, County Galway, to immerse themselves in the living language while staying in the area.

The course is provided in partnership with COGG.

Who We Are

Coláiste Chamuis has been organizing full immersion language courses in the Connemara Gaeltacht for 50 years. Our students consistently achieve great fluency in Irish in a positive, motivating environment. We have always placed emphasis on the living language of Irish and the participation of every student in enjoyable activities, sports, cultural events, and entertainment. The college applies the same approach, values, and experiences in our Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses for teachers.

Croke Park Hours

Teachers will fulfill at least 10 hours of Croke Park voluntary hours through teaching and working during the course. A completion certificate will be awarded to each teacher to verify their participation.
